Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — hotel pickup and drop-off within Da Nang city center is included in all Lokalista tours. Our local guides will come directly to your accommodation to start the experience. If you’re staying outside of the city center, we can still arrange transportation for a small additional fee (around $4 or 100,000 VND per person). Let us know your hotel address when booking, and we’ll confirm all the details in advance.
For the best comfort, we recommend wearing light, breathable clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for riding a scooter and walking short distances. If you're joining a morning or sunset tour, consider bringing a light jacket or windbreaker, especially if visiting hilltops or open roads. Other useful items include sunscreen, sunglasses, and your phone or camera for great photo opportunities. We’ll take care of the rest — including helmets and water.
Our tours are designed to fit perfectly into your day — whether you’re short on time or just want a taste of Da Nang. Our Half-Day City Tours usually start around 8:00 AM and last approximately 4 hours. It’s a perfect way to explore the city’s highlights without spending the whole day. Our Evening Street Food Tours start around 4:00 PM and end by 8:00 PM, just in time for you to enjoy the golden hour and the vibrant local food scene. Each tour includes multiple stops, with a balanced pace so you have time to enjoy the experience — not just check places off a list.
We offer a full refund if you cancel at least 6 hours before the tour starts. For last-minute cancellations, we can help you reschedule whenever possible. For group bookings (10+ guests) or customized tours, advance confirmation may be required, and late changes may incur a charge depending on the situation. All payments are made in cash after the tour — no deposit needed. Just let us know if your plans change!
Absolutely — and we highly recommend it! 📷 Our tours include some of the most photogenic spots in Da Nang, from hidden cafés on the hills to riverside sunsets and street food stalls bursting with color. Your guide will also be happy to help you take photos if you're riding solo. In fact, many of our guests say they got their favorite trip photos on our tours — it’s a perfect way to capture real moments, not just tourist poses.
Yes — we welcome guests of different ages, and we’ll do our best to make the ride safe and enjoyable for everyone. For kids over 6–7 years old, we recommend pairing them with one of our experienced local drivers so they have plenty of space and can fully enjoy the ride. For older travelers, the tour is designed at a comfortable pace, with stops to rest and relax between highlights. As always, we’re flexible — let us know your situation and we’ll tailor the experience accordingly.
Yes, absolutely — your safety is our top priority. At Lokalista, we operate scooter tours in Da Nang with great care. All of our local drivers are professionally trained and experienced in navigating city traffic smoothly and safely. Each guest rides as a passenger with their own dedicated driver, allowing you to fully relax and enjoy the ride. We also provide standard helmets, rain ponchos, and brief safety instructions before the tour begins. If you're new to riding scooters or feeling unsure, just let us know — we’re happy to accommodate your comfort level and make sure the experience feels fun and secure from the start.
Definitely! We want everyone to enjoy our food tours, no matter their dietary needs. Our Da Nang street food tours include a variety of local dishes — and we can always work around allergies or preferences. Whether you're vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or have other dietary concerns, just let us know when booking and we’ll customize your stops accordingly. That said, local Vietnamese food is diverse and often cooked fresh to order — so it’s easier than you might expect to find delicious options that suit your diet.
Da Nang weather can be unpredictable — but that won’t stop us! All Lokalista scooter tours run rain or shine. In fact, some guests say a light rain made their experience even more memorable. We always carry rain ponchos for guests, and our scooters are stable and comfortable even in drizzle. Of course, if there is heavy rain or unsafe conditions, we may postpone or reschedule the tour for everyone’s safety. In that case, you’ll have the option to pick a new date or receive a full refund — no worries at all.
You can easily book your tour directly on our website — it only takes a minute! No upfront payment is needed. All tours are paid in cash after the experience, directly to your guide. If you have any questions before booking, feel free to contact us — we're happy to help!
Yes, absolutely! All of our guides are English-speaking locals who are not only knowledgeable about Da Nang’s culture, food, and history, but also love to connect with travelers from around the world. They’re friendly, professional, and happy to share stories — and they’ll make sure you feel comfortable throughout the tour, whether it’s your first time in Vietnam or your tenth.
We keep things small and personal. Most Lokalista tours run with fewer than 8 guests, giving you a more intimate and relaxed experience. You can choose to join a shared group or request a private tour — it’s up to you. Have a larger group? No problem! We’re happy to accommodate — just contact us in advance so we can plan everything smoothly.
Absolutely — solo travelers are always welcome! Many of our guests explore Da Nang on their own and join our tours for the local insight and friendly atmosphere. Whether you prefer meeting new people or booking a private solo experience, we’ve got you covered.
To guarantee availability, we suggest booking at least 24 hours in advance — especially during weekends and peak seasons. That said, we often have space for last-minute guests, so feel free to reach out anytime. We’ll do our best to get you on a ride!
